COMMENTS
Fruit sourcing and the artful skill of blending underpin the reputation of this everyday Penfolds red.
We are proud of Koonunga Hill because it shows all the characters of the Penfolds House Style and offers
a level of consistency well above the average. DOMINIC COULTER,
Winemaker
When the 1976 Koonunga Hill Shiraz Cabernet was first released it created an expectation for the future well beyond its modest price point. First offered to customers at $1.69 a bottle, today this vintage can fetch over $250 at auction, illustrating the strength of its reputation with wine collectors and drinkers.
A remarkable entry-point wine with surprising fruit density and consistency. JAMES HALLIDAY, AM
