The grapes for Penfolds Cellar Reserve Pinot Gris are mostly sourced from the Adelaide Hills, with some small parcels from Eden Valley in contention. The wine is fermented in 75% stainless steel and 25% seasoned French oak barriques. The barriques provide layers of creamy, lees derived complexity while ripe pear and potpourri florals dominate the aromatic spectrum. The palate shows a lovely balanced mouth-watering, crunchy and chalk like acidity, finishing with refreshing bone dry phenolics.
