CLIMATE Cool maritime climate with close proximity to the Southern Ocean.
LOCATION Limestone Coast, South Australia. The Robe region is centred around the small townships of Robe and Beachport.
SOILS Shallow (5–45 cm/2–18 in) loamy sand over limestone with smaller areas of terra rossa over limestone and deep sandy loam.
RAINFALL Average rainfall is around 667 mm (26 in). About 210 mm (8 in) falls during growing season.
IRRIGATION Supplementary irrigation is provided.
VITICULTURE Vines are trained on a single wire vertically positioned high trellis, with overhead sprinkler system and frost fans for use in combating frost.
GRAPE VARIETIES Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir.
FRUIT PROFILE This vineyard contributes fruit to Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon, Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon and St Henri Shiraz.

The Robe Vineyard was first established in the mid-1990s. It was formerly a grazing property for breeding horses for the British Army in India. It comprises 235 hectares (580 acres) under vine.
