Representing the pinnacle of the Penfolds red wine range, the 1991 Grange is one of the finest red wines made in Australia and displays lifted classic Grange character, perhaps more so than the highly acclaimed 1990. 
When To Drink
Drinking well, but will improve with time. Drinking window now - 2040. 
Taste Description
Deep crimson. Complex dark chocolate, roasted chestnut, vanilla, herb aromas. A rich voluminous palate with saturated dark chocolate, mocha, malty, aniseed flavours and finegrained supple tannins. Finishes chalky firm and long. A rich buoyant and ethereal Grange with tremendous substance and lasting power. A classic vintage.
Technical Information

Origin: Multi-regional blend, South Australia. From Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale.

Maturation: Aged in 100% new American oak for 18 months.

Wine Analysis: Alc/Vol: 13.50% Acidity: 7.30g/L pH: 3.32.

Variety: Shiraz (95%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%).
