To further your Penfolds wine experience, vintage release tasting notes are written by Penfolds winemakers at the time of release. Each tasting note describes the wine's nose, palate and colour; the first marker of the wines journey in bottle. Each Penfolds wine has a unique history of which an excerpt is shared.

Undeniably a wine of its place, a pure expression of the unique terroir of Magill Estate. Signature blue fruits, lavender, liquored dark chocolate. Fresh green coffee beans. The ancient mottled red clay soils of Magill Estate deliver their signature fruit characters of dried cranberries, succulent blackberry, mulberry conserve. Fresh sage, dried bay leaves, thyme flowers. A gravelly minerality on the finish, taught. Super-fine tannins. A wonderful expression of this unique vineyard.
