Vintage History:

Cellar Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from select parcels of Barossa Valley fruit. This includes 1880s planted Block 42 and 1955 planted Block 41 cabernet sauvignon. The style is very close to the Special Bin Block 42 style, but draws fruit from a wider spectrum of vineyards and soil profiles. Typically it is opulent in structure with ripe cassis, dark chocolate aromas, chocolatey tannins and underlying savoury new oak. The wines, vinified using classic Penfolds techniques, have a superb lasting quality. The wine was first made in 2005, with subsequent releases in 2006, 2008 & 2010.
