Colour
Vibrant dark cherry
Nose
Immediately unleashed - a rush of raspberry and liqueur chocolate laced with cocoa powder.
Lurking beneath – scents of uncured meats – arguably carpaccio replete with salted capers.
And above - wafts of sandalwood (oak?), sumac spice and alluring volatiles sublime and fill the glass.
Shiraz cabernet or cabernet shiraz? Hard to ID, and really no need…
Palate
Dark & brooding, extolling an automatic presence and assured stature.
A lush amalgam of dark satsuma plum & mulberry fruits abet ripe tannins and supportive acidity.
100% new oak is certainly well aligned and structurally dovetailed – excuse the pun.
Texturally seamless, no edges.
Impressive length and dimension. Neither timid nor brutish; balanced.
Demands air/decant.
