The recent redevelopment preserves the rich history and charm of the site while seamlessly integrating innovation to provide an enriching visitor experience through a new cellar door and café Magill Estate Kitchen.
The Magill Estate Kitchen is a new concept; it is a ‘sister offering’ to the awarded Magill Estate Restaurant, providing a more accessible experience in the form of casual dining. Co head chefs Scott Huggins and Emma McCaskill focus on building a culinary experience centred around local and fresh produce for sharing.
Delivering vineyard and Adelaide city views the new Magill Cellar Door has been perfectly repositioned to celebrate the magic of being one of the worlds few single vineyards located within city boundaries. The new Cellar door boasts a luxurious and refined experience. Featuring private and open plan spaces that are dedicated to wine education through storytelling.
The new spaces at the winery balance well with the refurbishment of Penfolds historic underground drives. Comprehensively restored, the drives will feature as a pinnacle of the winery.
Renowned architects Denton Corker Marshall were responsible for this impressive redevelopment spanning over two years. Denton Corker Marshall have worked on iconic Australian structures such as the Melbourne Museum, Melbourne Exhibition Centre, the Australian War Memorial and most recently the Australian Pavilion in Venice.
