Penfolds Koonunga Hill has established itself as one of Australia's favourite names in premium red wine. Since the first vintage in 1976 of Koonunga Hill Shiraz Cabernet, the collection's reputation has been built upon its quality, value and consistency.

Premium Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from South Australia have been selected to maintain these three key characters. The wine has excellent structure and length and while it is ready for drinking now, it will gain further complexity with short term cellaring.

All the Koonunga Hill wines are very much a reflection of the Penfolds winemaking style and philosolhy and the cabernet sauvignon is no exception.

First vintaged in 2002, the Koonunga Hill Cabernet Sauvignon draws on fruit sourced predominantly from the Barossa Valley and Langhorne Creek, to create a consistently impressive style and quality.

Matured for 15 months in old French and American oak, this supple, elegant and beautifully aromatic wine shows classic blackcurrant and cedar characters, supported by the gentle oak maturation that is so distinctively Penfolds.

Consistently well-regarded since launch, the Koonunga Hill Cabernet Sauvignon showcases the typical cellar-ability that all Penfolds wines are renowned for. It can be enjoyed upon release or cellared carefully for two to four years.
