Penfold's Bin release is pretty much all about red wine, as is the winery, but it's true (and Mattinson is always banging on about this) that the whites are now demanding an equal amount of respect, if not attention. It's hardly showing any age with just a touch of toast and the barest suggestion of petrol and honey in the background. It's very tight, crunchy and acidic with pronounced lime and lime rind flavours - much like a young Hunter Semillon in some respects. Spotless winemaking and excellent length. It really needs (at least) another five years to show its best.
